- Description:
- Ribbon lauds William Henry Harrison's military achievements, his life as a farmer, and the fact that his father, Benjamin A. Harrison, signed the Declaration of Independence. The 1841 date on the ribbon suggests it was issued to commemorate Harrison's March 1841 inauguration before his death in April
however, item 2214.RB0160 also contains the 1841 date but clearly was issued to commemorate the July 4th holiday in 1840. The 1841 may refer to the date when it was anticipated that Harrison would be taken from the plough. - Cite As:
