- Whig Party ribbon from the May 2, 1844 Young Men's Convention of Ratification, which was held in Baltimore, Maryland. The ribbon lauds Henry Clay and caricatures Martin Van Buren, the anticipated Democratic Party Presidential nominee. Ribbon proclaims that O.K., a Van Buren slogan, actually stands for Oll For Klay (All For Clay). Caricature images show a raccoon thumbing its nose, and Clay rolling a ball at a fleeing Van Buren. The raccoon was a symbol for Clay, who was known as the old coon
