Postcard is dated to the 1940 Presidential campaign based on text instructions indicating If you are opposed to the Third Term send these to your friends. Postcard pre-dates MAD magazine's use of smiling fool image (as Alfred E. Neuman), which began in 1954 MAD copied an image that had been used at least as early as 1914 (see http://www.toonopedia.com/alfred_e.htm).
