Paper siding of this collapsible paper candle holder/lantern contains the words UNION / FOR / EVER on one side and an American eagle on the other, each on a blue background surrounded by a border of stars. A series of red and white stripes is below the blue band. The lantern contains a wire handle to allow suspension. Item donor Susan H. Douglas associates this lantern with Ulysses S. Grant's 1868 campaign for President.
