- Description:
- Lantern-type candle holder consists of a metal frame, bent wire handle to allow lantern to be mounted atop a pole, and colored paper insert. Insert contains words HAYES and WHEELER and a design of stars, four-leaf clovers, and flowers. TOPPAN'S PATENT WATER PROOF, April 29, 1869. / Manufactured by F. MORANDI, 102 Union St., Boston. is printed across the top of the paper insert (obscured by metal frame when mounted). The insert was originally colored orange with translucent red, green, and blue paper covering holes in insert. Item was repaired in the past with construction paper.
