Hardcover book of 276 pages contains a critical history of the Democratic Party. In particular, the author claims the actions of Democratic Party leaders caused the American Civil War. First portion of the book also includes brief histories of the Federalist and National Republican Parties. The final six pages of the book contain advertisements for other Derby & Miller publications. Only the book's title page has been digitized for this project.
