- Description:
- Assemblage consists of three soap figurines in the shape of Republican elephants, a two-piece box, and a standing cardboard point-of-sale advertising card. Soaps are colored red, white, and blue. The box bears a label reading Pure Castile Soap / Hand-Painted By / Austrian Craftsmen / MEM [?] / Made In Austria. Donor Susan H. Douglas dates the soaps to the 1956 Presidential campaign. Item 2214.BB0356 is a similar set of Democratic donkey soaps.
