Octagonal plate bears the maker's mark FRANCAISE / PORCELAIN on its reverse. May be the mark of the French China Company of Sebring, Ohio, which manufactured a line of ceramics called La Francaise. Item donor Susan H. Douglas dates the plate to the 1908 Presidential campaign. References: Barber 1971: Pages 42 & 51.
